Android notebooks? Yep, Intel says, and they'll only cost $200

Intel-powered touchscreen devices, similar to the Samsung Ativ PC, could sell for as little as $200.(Credit: Samsung)Notebook prices should soon hit $200, but most of those will be Android-based devices, not Windows 8, an Intel executive said.
Intel CEO Paul Otellini last week said touchscreen PCs could debut at prices as low as $200 in the coming months. At the time, he didn't specify what operating system those products would run.

The next PC game-changer: The Android-powered PC

So far, the notebook market is dominated by two players, Windows and OS X, but there's an operating system that could drop into this mix and be highly disruptive — Android.

There's been a lot of discussion bouncing around the tech blogosphere about Intel's plans to get all disruptive and start supporting Android on devices that will cost in the region of $200.

While Microsoft might not be happy about being sidelined by a company that was once one of its biggest supporters, this is exactly what the PC industry needs.

Viber for Windows and MAC OS

Viber has made quite a name for itself as a global mobile first company, but today that all changes as the company breaks ground in the desktop space. That means that starting today, Viber’s 200 million+ users will have access to their Viber contacts from both mobile and desktop.

The rollout is part of a bigger push from Viber, including an update to its iOS, Android and BlackBerry apps to version 3.0. But the real story is this desktop app.

I played with the software earlier this week, and can say that it’s a truly impressive VoIP, messaging, and video calling platform. That’s right. Viber for Desktop (available on both PC and Mac here) marks the company’s entry into video calling with a beta version of the feature. For now, video calling is only available from desktop to desktop.

Other than that, the desktop version has just about everything the mobile version has, including messaging, stickers, etc.

To start, you must be a mobile user of Viber, so if you don’t have a number that’s already associated with the service, the desktop app will ask you to download the mobile application. From there, you simply input your number into the desktop app, enter a pin which is sent to your mobile device, and you instantly have access to all the contacts you know on Viber.

The reason Viber did it this way is because the company pays close attention to the chatting, and talking habits of its users. We don’t sit still when we talk; we roam and wander. By tying the mobile and desktop applications together by default, this actually lets you seamlessly switch from mobile to desktop in the middle of a call.

Viber also syncs your messages against mobile and desktop, so all messages appear on both platforms but only the device that you’re on actively will beep. Messages deleted on one platform will also show as deleted on others.

As previously mentioned, Viber is also launching a huge update to its mobile applications, most notably Android and iOS. They’ll both now have video messages (much like a video voicemail which you can leave for a friend), new stickers, “last online status”, an upgraded photo experience, a new voice engine, and other minor fixes. Android in particular has undergone a huge redesign to be “less iOS and more Android,” according to Talmon Marco, CEO of Viber.

Think Before You Click : How To Protect Yourself On FACEBOOK ?

I know most of you don't like reading, but i believe that when it comes to privacy and securing your Facebook or Twitter account and preventing your information like passwords and pictures to be stolen and known you will read. I suggest you to read the following to protect your Facebook and other Social Networking Profiles.

What is clickjacking on Facebook?

Clickjacking is a security threat similar to cross-site scripting. It happens when cybercriminals use several transparent layers to trick users into clicking a button or a link. Clickjacking may use different types of links, ranging from image links to text links.
The term “clickjacking” was coined because the attack aims to "hijack" the number of clicks meant for a particular page. It then routes to the clicks to another page. Cybercriminals hide malicious content under the veil of legitimate pages and may use iframes and malicious JavaScript to load this content from a third-party site.

BEWARE OF FAKE FACEBOOK SECURITY PAGE PHISHING SCAM

Trend Micro has spotted a malware sample, TSPY_MINOCDO.A, which targets Facebook users. The malware redirects users to a spoofed page of the social network and claims to be part of the site's security check feature, even showing the tagline “Security checks help keep Facebook trustworthy and free of spam”. Users eager to log into Facebook may fall victim to this ruse, taking the 'security check' for face value. This may result in them entering their details and thus exposing their credit card accounts to cyber criminal infiltration. The report has also highlighted the three-fold increase in attacks on small businesses from 2011. Trend Micro said the survey scam had also promised other tech goodies such as Google Glass, Instagram, and Tumblr.

iPhone 5S Could Launch in July - Alleged Leaked Document

We’re sure some are wondering when Apple’s alleged iPhone 5S will be making its debut. Some are assuming it will be towards the later part of the year which has been the time when Apple has revealed its phones in the past, like the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 5. However some are speculating that perhaps it might see a mid-year launch which was typical of Apple until the iPhone 4S. In any case the folks at Nowhereelse.fr have managed to get their hands on what appears to be a leaked document from Japanese carrier, KDDI, alleging that a pre-sale announcement of the iPhone 5S will kick off on the 20th of June with sales beginning in July.
The document also lists some of the changes that will be brought to the iPhone 5S, namely a 13MP camera and iOS 7, with the latter more or less expected, while the former is still up in the air, although an upgrade wouldn’t be a stretch of the imagination. The dates do line up with Apple’s WWDC which takes place from the 10th of June until the 14th, with Apple usually putting products up for pre-order weeks after they have been announced. Of course the legitimacy of this alleged document cannot be verified as they could have easily been printed from any printer, so take this with a grain of salt for now.
